The Secure Key Management Facility (KMF)
Profile Window allows you view or define ASTRO OTAR (Over-The-Air-Rekeying)
parameters pertaining to KMF Profiles. KMF Profiles are defined to communicate
with specific KMFs. Up to five (5) Secure KMF Profiles are possible.
This entire node and
all of its features are only available when the Secure Wide ASTRO OTAR Enable field is enabled.

The intent of KMF Profiles is to allow the radio to operate with different KMFs, possibly on different systems. The drawback to this functionality is that the underlying encryption hardware cannot manage having multiple versions of the same key; for example, you could not have the same CKR Number managed by both KMF#1 and KMF#2. Therefore, operators of KMF#1 and KMF#2, in this example, would have to agree not to manage the same CKR (Common Key Reference) numbers. |
